At Deco De Mode we help busy Vancouver Island locals refresh, even and brighten their skin with medical-grade chemical peels.
Our Alumier™ MD peels are customized by experienced aestheticians to treat acne scars, sun damage, enlarged pores, uneven tone & fine lines - with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime.
A chemical peel uses carefully selected acids to remove the top dead layers of skin, revealing fresher, smoother skin beneath.
At Deco De Mode we use the Alumier MD range - clinical, professional blends that are safe and effective for many skin concerns.
Peels stimulate cell turnover, can boost collagen, lighten pigmentation, and improve texture.

Yes - peels can be safely applied to many body areas; we’ll discuss scope during consultation.
At-home peels can be useful for maintenance, but professional peels use controlled concentrations and clinical protocols for safer, faster results. (Major consumer outlets warn about risks of strong at-home peels.)
Results usually last 3–6 weeks, depending on:
If you want long-term improvement in tone, texture, or fine lines, peels work best as a series done consistently.
A professional peel does not remove entire “layers” of skin — that’s a common misunderstanding. It dissolves the top layer of dead, built-up skin cells (the stratum corneum) and speeds up natural cell turnover.Stronger peels can reach slightly deeper, but they still work through controlled exfoliation, not physically peeling off full layers.
Most clients feel a warm tingling or mild stinging during application; discomfort is typically short lived. We tailor strength to your comfort.
Not right away. Most clients should wait 24–48 hours before applying makeup (especially foundation). After a peel, the skin barrier is temporarily more sensitive, and makeup can cause irritation or clogging. If you must wear something, stick to a clean mineral powder - but ideally, let the skin breathe for a full day.
There isn’t a “perfect age.” People usually start mild peels in their 20s to help with congestion and early dullness, and continue into their 30s–40s for texture and pigmentation. What matters isn’t age - it’s your skin condition: clogged pores, uneven tone, rough texture, early lines, or sun damage. If those concern you, you’re a good candidate.
